The sun will be belting down, the crowds will be out in their droves, some of the best race horses in the country will be taking to the Curragh on Saturday afternoon, for an absolute feast of horse racing at the Kildare track.
The team at 3FurlongsOut.com have previewed races 1-6 for the opening day of Colossus Bets Irish racing pool.
Champion trainer Aidan O’Brien has an exceptional record in this race, this year I think he has an outstanding contender yet again in the shape of Mount Tabora, this exceptional well bred horse looks the stables first string horse if going by jockey bookings and should be well schooled for the task in hand however expected to be priced accordingly in the market. Very much on paper looks the one they all must beat.

These handicaps are very hard to digest, as valid cases can be made for several in-form contenders however I have had my eye on Alfredo Arcano for quite a while now. This David Marnane trained horse is a consistent customer and his recent course and distance success should have left him spot on for this race. The poor draw is a slight negative, though that shouldn’t hinder him too much as he seems to do all his best work late on in his races.
Next Best: Blue Uluru
Favourites have an outstanding record in this race however this year’s renewal there doesn’t seem to be any outstanding contender. Aidan O’Brien throws a few darts here, and I think Fleet Review is perhaps the most probable winner. The Galileo bred horse hasn’t set the world alight, but prior to his recent Royal Ascot flop he looked progressive enough. It’s too early to dismiss him and a race of this nature looks well within his grip.

Jessica Harrington has really proved to be one of the best dual-purposes trainers of her generation, there seems to be no limit to her success. This race looks a tailor-made opportunity for her to get another victory with I’m So Fancy, who endeavors to back up her recent success at this venue, which looks the strongest form on offer in this race.

Irish trainer Richard O’Brien may not be a household name yet however the rookie trainer is really making colossal strides with his small but very capable team. O’Brien has really hit the ground running with his training career, winning numerous big races. His intended runner in this race is Dianthus, who looks primed for a bold show after a recent second place effort at this venue, when narrowly denied a success on the line. Dropping back in trip today could prove the catalyst for this very consistent horse.
Next Best: Dawn Delivers
Aidan O’Brien has three declared entries in this small but quality field, there are many angles to look where the likely winner will come from however I am very bullish about the chances of Land Force, who ran a creditable race at Royal Ascot, only beaten by a few yards and this race looks within his grasp, he is visibly the one they all must beat here.
