Rangers v Hearts – Home or Draw
With little to play for in this game but pride , Rangers good home record versus a Hearts team that has only managed to beat Motherwell and Partick away all season, with a bit of caution side with the home side getting the points
Sunderland v Swansea Draw or Away
Sunderland have been relegated to the Championship and there isn’t anything competitive from them, the only thing left to play for now is pride. The Swans come off a vital win over Everton and they need just 3 points to avoid relegation. With Sunderland having the worst defence at home in the EPL (conceding 1.77 goals per game), I can see the visitors taking advantage. Another key point; since Paul Clement took charge of Swansea, they are the only side not to concede a goal from a set piece. (15% of Sunderland goals come from set piece)
Bournemouth v Burnley – Home Or Draw
Eddie Howe’s Bournemouth have been much stronger at the Vitality Stadium this season with Josh King looking particularly sharp in recent weeks. The Cherries have only lost three of the last nine games here, two of those coming against Manchester City and Chelsea. Burnley were sloppy at the back last weekend drawing 2-2 with West Brom. They’ve been better on the road recently, they’ll settle for a point from this long trip south
Middlesbrough v Southampton – Away
Middlesbrough are another side who will be in the Championship next season. Southampton are sitting mid table (10th) and will be playing freely. Virgil van Dijk, being watched by scouts from top premier league sides (rumour suggests Liverpool and Everton) so I am expecting top flight performance from the away side. With Middlesbrough, yet to keep a clean sheet against Saints at home in any of their last 5 league meetings and their weak defence (conceded 2.2 goals on average in their last 5 games) we will be taking on Saints to do the job.
Espanyol v Valencia – Home
Espanyol are in pretty decent form with five wins in their last 10 games, only losing to 3 teams in the top 6 over that period. Valencia lost 5 from their last 6 away games and are having another below par season though some signs of improvement lately. Regardless, I can’t see beyond a HOME win here
Hamilton vs Motherwell – Home or Draw
In the very heart of the Scottish Premier League relegation battle, Hamilton face Motherwell knowing a point will keep them up at the expense of their opponents. Both sides are level on 32 points from 35 games, but Hamilton has a superior goal difference.
Hamilton have lost their last three games, while Motherwell has suffered defeat in three of their last four. But the home side have been good in front of their own fans this term, winning 5 of 16 games, and that could just about prove the difference on an extremely nervy afternoon.
Osasuna v Granada – Home
Both teams with a shocking minus 50 goal difference each, Osasuna only losing once in there last 5 games against Athletic Bilbao. Granada with the enviable record of 10 losses from last 11 matches points to a home win.
Atalanta v AC Milan – Home
A hugely significant game at the top of Serie A. Atalanta occupies the final European spot and has a six point cushion over AC Milan. Gian Pier Gasperini’s side has been sensational this season and has recently held Juventus and Fiorentina to a draws here.
AC Milan were abysmal against Roma on Sunday and their season is unraveling. Gabriel Palletta is suspended following his dismissal and the continued absence of Giacomo Bonaventura has hindered them. They haven’t won away since mid-February.
Crystal Palace v Hull Prediction – Draw
This game has become much more important than either side will have wanted at this stage of the season after last weekend’s results. Crystal Palace are just four points above Hull after a 5-0 thrashing at Manchester City, while the Tigers are now in deep trouble after defeat to Sunderland.
A point will do for Sam Allardyce’s men against a side who have not won away since August. The Eagles have a defensive crisis, so Allardyce will no doubt aim to consolidate. But Hull are currently in the bottom three and that wouldn’t help them at all.
Huddersfield v Sheffield Wednesday – Draw or Away
Huddersfield haven’t ended the season like promotion contenders. David Wagner’s side have been sloppy at the back and the resting of players hasn’t helped their cause. Danny Ward will be suspended for this first leg and have looked unsure at the back.
Sheffield Wednesday’s six match unbeaten run came to a crashing end at home to Fulham but Sam Winnall came in and fired them in front. The former Barnsley man is proving that their strength in depth is superb. The Owls have terrific resources and should be able to see off the beleaguered Terriers.
Cagliari v Empoli – Draw or Away
Two average to poor Serie A teams. Caligari enduring tight games for the most part 1 goal the decider in a lot of their games. Empoli struggling to hit the net ( just 26 this season ) picking up lately fighting to survive the drop and winning 3 of the last 4 games. The visitors have more to play for and will fight for at least a point.
Crotone v Udinese – Home
It’s now or never for Crotone! Empoli slipped up at the weekend and they lie four points behind the Tuscans with three matches remaining. Davide Nicola has helped his side find belief and they are unbeaten in six, winning four of those matches.
Udinese sit 11th with nothing to play for. They have won just one of the last five away matches which came against already relegated Pescara. They are strong at home but have notched just 14 goals in 15 matches on their travels and are likely to find the Crotone bandwagon hard to halt.
Palermo vs Genoa Prediction: Draw or Away
Palermo are all but certainties for relegation from Serie A this season, while Genoa are not quite safe themselves despite a five point cushion to the bottom three with three games remaining.
Neither side come into the game in good form, but Genoa can take great confidence from a victory over Inter last weekend. Repeating the feat for just the fourth time on the road this season would almost ensure safety for another year, and with Giovanni Simeone in attack, they have great hope of doing so.
Tottenham v Man Utd – Home
The title race from Tottenham may come to an end if league leaders Chelsea win against West Brom at The Hawthorns on Friday evening. The outcome of that game is so important for Spurs and I believe it will affect the way that the players will turn up against Man Utd. Spurs form is outstanding at home, (won their last 13 games) yet again when facing Man Utd, they have only managed to win just 1 (D6 L3). Man Utd hopes to get fourth place is a virtual dream after losing to Arsenal. With Man Utd playing mid-week football in the Europa League, the players might lack the fitness to take on the Spurs.
Roma v Juventus – Home & Draw
Roma is coming into this game after an outstanding away win against Milan (4-1) and their hopes for automatic Champions League qualification are increasing. They are only 1 point ahead of Napoli and they cannot afford any slips. A big concern for the Yellow and Reds is their top goal scorer. Edin Dzeko, who will not play in this game. Juventus needs just 2 points to secure the Seria A title and they will defiantly be looking to get a positive result. However, I don’t think they will going to be crowned as champions until the following game at home against Crotone. I am going to take on Roma to avoid defeat
