The Ratings vs The £2,000,000 Midweek Pick 6 – By Match Ratings
A lovely feast of midweek football gives us with the chance of taking down a £2,000,000 jackpot in the Midweek Pick 6 and there is some cracking ties in there!
Arsenal vs Swansea
Cracking tie in prospect here as two open attacking football teams take to the field. Arsenal on the back of a 6-0 hammering against Chelsea and Swansea on the back of a narrow 3-2 defeat at Everton – where they were much the better side for large parts of the game.
This match is rated 206 on my MPR (match performance ratings) and 10 of the last 14 premiership games rated 180+ have ended over 2.5 goals and 9 of those 10 over 3.5 goals. At the weekend all 4 games rated 180+ were goal-fests ending 3-6, 3-2, 5-0 & 3-2 and my MPR over 4.5 goal trebles landed for the 4th time this season and a £10 stake on the weekly treble would see you over £5000 in profit this season (shameless plug).
Swansea’s last 2 away games has saw them score 3 & 2 at Liverpool and Everton in games that ended 4-3 & 3-2 and got to fancy them to get on the scoresheet here aswell after Arsenals defensive shambles vs Chelsea. Swansea have scored in every game since losing 2-0 at West Ham on the 1st of February (6 games in a row)
When arsenal shipped 6 at Man City they drew the next game at home 0-0, When Arsenal shipped 5 at Liverpool they drew the next game at home 0-0, hopefully lightening doesn’t strike 3 times and this ends 0-0. Goals Goals, Goals for me here tonight
My Prediction: AOH, 3-2, 3-1, 2-1, AOD & 1-2
Man Utd vs Man City
Man Utds home record against top half teams has been dreadful this season with just 1 win in 7 games and have picked up just 5pts from a possible 21 and have yet to score more than a single goal in those 7 games. In total Man utd have played 12 games against top half teams and won just 1 out of those 12 and lost 7
Man utd have huge defensive problems coming into this game and the only bonus is Aguero being out for City but they still have more than enough problems to cause a vulnerable Utd defence plenty of problems. Olympiakos missed sitter after sitter and DeGea made 2-3 world class saves to keep that clean sheet and I can’t see City being as wasteful as Olympiakos were
Expect City to win but got to take some Utd victories in there aswell
My Prediction: 3-2, 2-1, AOD, 1-2, 1-3, 2-3 & AOA
Newcastle vs Everton
Newcastles home record against top half teams so far hasn’t been great with just 1 win in 6 games. They have won 3 of their last 4 league games
Since putting 5 past 9 man Stoke, Newcastle have only scored 2 home goals in the 6 games since then and struggle for goals when Remy isn’t in the side.
Everton have yet to lose an away game against a team below them in the table winning 4 and drawing 5 of the 9 away games. In total Everton have only lost 1 of the 21 games played vs teams below them in the league.
Despite Newcastles poor scoring form I expect a few goals in this one and 2-1/1-2 is a popular scoreline when these 2 sides meet.
My Prediction: 2-1, AOD & 1-2
Fiorentina vs AC Milan
Fiorentina have a good home record against teams in the bottom half of the table with 5 wins & 2 draws from 7 games & have scored 2+ goals in 5 of those 7 games and also conceded in 5 of those 7 games.
AC Milans away record against top half teams is awful with 5 defeats and 2 draws from 7 games and have conceded 2+ goals in 5 of the 7 games but scored in 6 of the 7.
Strongly fancy both teams to score but taking Fiorentina for a narrow home win
My Prediction: 2-1
West Ham vs Hull
West Hams home form against top half and bottom half teams is like night and day. In 8 home games vs top half teams they have conceded in all 8 games and conceded 3 goals in 5 of those 8 games. Against bottom half sides though it is the complete opposite and West Ham have kept 6 clean sheets in 7 home games vs bottom half teams.
Hulls away record against bottom half teams is average with 2 wins, 2 draws and 2 defeats from 6 games but have yet to concede more than a single goal in away games vs bottom half teams.
A tight game this one and I think it will be a draw and if there is a winner I expect it to be by a single goal
My Prediction: 1-1
Almeria vs Valencia
Almeria coming off the back of a cracking 4-3 victory over Real Sociedad and have only lost 1 of their 7 home games in LaLiga which was 1-3 against Sevilla. Almerias home record against top half teams is 2-2-4
Valencias away record against bottom half teams has been pretty poor so far with 2 wins, 1 draw and 4 defeats
Valencia have only won 1 of their last 8 away games in LaLiga which was weirdly against Barcelona and with Almeria only losing 1 of the last 7 at home I cant see an away win but not sure if they have enough to grab all 3pts
My Prediction: AOD
Good luck all and have a good midweek
